Yellow Zone Tickets – San Francisco

I’ve noticed that many of the curbs in San Francisco (at least in SOMA) have badly faded yellow paint on them, to the degree that you can hardly see the paint after dark, let alone any text on them. I don’t know if these are actually loading zones or if they have been deliberately scratched out, and I don’t feel like testing. Do you guys have an idea? Do loading zones need to be clearly marked to be valid?

Two Hour Time Limit (Horror Story)

I was parked in a two-hour parking zone. I came out to move my car and the meter maid was just arriving (that little prick Boscoe that others have complained about). I tried to move my car but he wouldn’t let me. He stopped in my way. I politely asked if I could move the car and forgo the ticket, but he took great joy in ignoring me and printing my ticket.

California: City Refunds $1.4 Million in Illegal Traffic Camera Tickets

The city of South San Francisco has agreed to refund thousands of tickets. The tickets, issued by American Traffic Solutions (ATS) since August, 2009, were for $446 each. Also, in question is the company being paid on a “per-citation basis” which a San Mateo Court has ruled unlawful.
