Chicagoans beware. Chicago Parking Meters LLC, the private company which leased the city’s parking meters for the next 75 years, seems to be on a ticket writing spree. With just five workers issuing citations (with that number expected to grow in the near future) the company has doled out some 1,345 tickets between June 21 and July 14. The company expects to make nearly $75 million this year, more than triple the annual $20 million that the meters brought in before the deal.

I beat a ticket for parking by a hydrant by taking a picture with the car and ticket in full view. I also took a picture with a measuring tape in full view parallel to the line to corroborate that I was into the yellow zone, but out of the illegal boundaries. They painted way past where they should have. I brought my pictures to the hearing with me. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

Circuit Judge, David Hall, 57, is counting his lucky stars after blood taken at a hospital visit following an arrest for DUI was improperly handled, deeming it inadmissible despite the .107% BAC. Hall is on trial for DUI after being pulled over and pepper sprayed when he refused to get out of his car. Cops had the blood tested at the Police crime lab instead of the hospital where it was drawn which violates procedures according to Kane County Judge F. Keith Brown.
