No Parking Near Camden

I parked about a block from Camden last week, and carefully read the sign, as I always do since I know how insane the parking enforcement can be in this city. The sign said No Parking 8am-6pm. Since I parked a few mins after 6pm, I thought I’d be OK. Nope! I got a ticket that read 559pm wihch I know is B.S.

Edwin Guarquila-Dolz, a 25 year old Baltimore man, has been charged with DUI after being pulled over on Sunrise Highway in Southhampton. That’s about it.
Students Advocate for Anti-Drunk Driving Bill

About 20 John Hopkins students traveled to Annapolis to show their support for the “Drunk Driving Elimination” act which will come before the Maryland House of Representatives. The students are mostly friends of Miriam Frankl, who was killed by a hit and run driver in October, 2009. The alleged driver has several DUI’s under his belt already. The bill would require all Maryland DUI offenders to pass Breathalyzer tests in order to start their car, and was presented to the House by Natalie Draisin, one of Miriam’s sorority sisters, members of MADD, and legislative sponsors.
County Council Formally Introduces Speed Camera Bill

The Baltimore City Council proposed authorizing the use of speed cameras in Baltimore County. If passed, 12-15 cameras would be placed on roads near schools. Final vote scheduled for September 8th.
