When you receive a parking ticket, always carefully check the ticket for errors. While they may seem trivial, any error from the parking enforcement officer (license plate number, time of day, etc.) could result in a dismissal of the ticket.

Hello everyone. I am a little confused. I got a parking ticket in Chicago on Sunday for parking my rental car at a spot that said “15 Minute Standing Zone, Use Flashing Lights 7:30AM-7:30PM, MON-SAT.” I actually parked there Saturday night at around 11:30PM, and went back to my car on Sunday to find this ticket. I had doubt about that sign so I took a picture including the car, location and the sign before I walked away. Anyone have any thoughts or advice?
The “red” portion of the sign states 15 minute standing zone. The red is “regulatory.”
The white portion is “informational” and says you are to engage emergency flashers during the specified time.
You are misunderstanding the sign!
It’s ALWAYS a 15 minute standing zone only!
