Permit Parking Only

If ticketed for parking in a Permit-Only Zone, make sure that the sign is clearly visible. If it isn’t, take a picture of it and bring it with you if you contest the citation.

Has anyone ever gotten a ticket for not having a residential parking sticker just because it was covered with snow?
I have a city sticker and a residential parking permit and still got a ticket. How rediculous is that? Is there any law that you have to remove the snow from your car?
That’s bull. Take a picture of it, and if you have a receipt for the sticker, make a copy and send both in with a letter to contest. They’ll dismiss it.
That’s what I did. I took pictures of the car with the sticker, although after the snow was removed. I still have the receipts and I will send them as well. They should rather have their people shoveling snow then writing tickets.
I got a ticket on Des Plains street in Chicago for Residential Permit Parking. I live in far north suburbs of Chicago and was there to show Sears Tower to some relatives from out of town around for memorial day. I didn’t even imagine that metered parking will also have residential permit restrictions. Also, the notice was obscured by a tree and I didn’t see it until after I got the ticket. All the residential permit parkings I have seen before didn’t have a metered parking and I had read the instructions on the parking meter and it said nothing about permit parking so I believed it was OK to park there. The permit parking notice was more than 150 ft away behind a tree in the opposite direction of where I had to walk from my car. I am wondering if its worth contesting this. It seems very unfair. There were plenty of parking spaces available there, I don’t think any resident would have been inconvenienced.
