If passengers are entering or exiting your vehicle, you are permitted to ‘double-park’ for a short amount of time. If this is the case, be sure to take down witness accounts (preferably from your passengers and other witnesses) and bring them with you if contesting the ticket.

I saw a dude getting this ticket as I was walking out of my office last week. The poor guy was just waiting for someone to get into his car and the cop wrote him a Double Parking ticket. Not cool during a recession.
