Parking meter violations are often unfair, as many meters don’t function properly. If you receive a citation for a parking meter violation, make sure you check the meter. If it’s flashing “FAIL,” call the number posted on the meter to report the problem.

    I got a ticket a broken meter. When I parked, the meter was blank. (Not flashing “FAIL” just blank.) I had just gone shopping, so I put a brown paper bag over the parking meter, and when I returned about 20 mins later there was a parking ticket. What should I do?

      This happening all over Houston and something needs to be done to stop it. There should be a phone number on the meter that you can call to report it. Good luck.
