If ticketed for parking in a Permit-Only Zone, make sure that the sign is clearly visible. If it isn’t, take a picture of it and bring it with you if you contest the citation.

My permit was hanging from my rear view mirror (where it always is) and I still received a ticket? Is the parking enforcement just blind or was it an honest mistake? What do I do?
You’re probably screwed and this happens more often than you might think. Your best bet is to photocopy your permit and send it in with your appeal. Explain to them that you NEVER take it out of your car and cannot understand why you were written the ticket. Good luck.
