Parking Too Close to a Fire Hydrant

If ticketed for parking too close to a fire hydrant, taking pictures of the scene is a good idea. If you happen to have a tape measure, ask a witness to assist you in measuring the distance and, if possible, ask for their contact information.

What’s the deal with this law? I just got a ticket and don’t know how far I’m supposed to be from the hydrant.
Hey Braden. CVC (California Vehicle Code) 22514 says you gotta be 15 ft away. Hope that helps.
