Permit Parking Only

If ticketed for parking in a Permit-Only Zone, make sure that the sign is clearly visible. If it isn’t, take a picture of it and bring it with you if you contest the citation.

So I live in the city just off of La Cienega and 3rd. Permits are required on at least one side of the street in most of those neighborhoods, and for good reason. Now, I have a parking permit so this has never bothered me. However, since I have two cars and only 1 parking permit, I have to park one of my cars on the side of the street that doesn’t require a permit. Last week, I got a ticket for not displaying my parking permit – even though I was parked on the side of the street in which you don’t need one – the east side of Orlando St. When I called to check if the laws had somehow changed, I was told that they hadn’t and I would need to go through the appeals process. Fine – mistakes happen. However, I just received a notice saying my appeal was denied. So now I have to go to court fight this and who knows if I’ll even win. They’ll probably just say that I was parked on the side of the street that requires a permit.
