Red Zone

If ticketed for parking in a Red Zone, taking pictures is a good idea. Often times, an aggressive parking enforcement officer will ticket a car for parking too close to a Red Zone, even though the car isn’t actually crossing into that area.

For the time in my life, I received a ticket for parking in a red-zone. I parked along a curb and went to eat lunch with a co-worker. I parked in the last space available before the red-curb started but there was a good 4 or 5 inches between my front bumper and red-curb. When I saw the ticket, my co-worker said “You shouldn’t have parked that close to the red-curb. But, my question is “Why not?” As long as I’m not touching it, I’m not violating the law, right? What a joke this city has turned into.
My Red Zone ticket is because the red curb is so faded that it looked white at first glance. There were plenty of spots available not too far behind the red zone – so it’s not like i had to park there. Shouldn’t the city have some responsibility in keeping the curb red so people don’t get confused?
