Street Cleaning

Street Cleaning is usually enforced during a specific time-frame, on a particular day of the week. Check the ticket to see what time the parking-enforcement officer issued the citation. If it’s within a few minutes of the beginning or end of the no-parking time-frame, a judge may give you the benefit of the doubt and dismiss the ticket.

I got a street cleaning ticket right outside my house. Street cleaning is from 9am-12pm. The ticket says 9:01, but I think I was out there to move it at 8:59. So, who’s right?
So, I was waiting for my friend to come down from his apartment on Kelton Ave in my car, STANDING (with standing lights on) on the side of the road that was currently due for street cleaning. Then a lady parking enforcement officer was asking me what I was doing and I responded that I was waiting for my friend to come down and I would move my vehicle if any street cleaning vehicle was approaching. She then scolded at me and said I was lying. After saying I wasn’t lying she left. Then a few weeks later I get a letter in the mail “Notice of delinquent parking violation.” It says the violation was “No Park/Street Clean.” I feel this is wrongfully given to me since: 1.) the parking enforcement officer just left and didn’t even give me the written ticket. 2.) I was standing on the side of the road, not parked.
