If ticketed for parking in an area that’s designated for Authorized Cars Only, be sure to check the signage to make sure that the rules were clearly posted. Taking pictures of the signage (or lack thereof) is also a good idea.

OK, so I got lost in Manhattan a couple of weeks ago and pulled down an alley, parked my car where it looked safe so I could walk inside a business to ask for directions. When I got back there was a parking ticket for parking in a zone for Authorized Cars Only. First of all, I was only inside the business for 10 minutes. Second of all, there were no other cars around – so it’s not like I was taking up a space that was needed by the Authorized Cars.
