If ticketed for “Blocking the Box,” you may want to take pictures of the scene, and get witness accounts as well. If you were in a situation where you couldn’t help but block the box for a short amount of time, a judge may give you the benefit the doubt.

I was pulled over by an officer on foot ( as were dozens of others) for blocking an intersection and a ticket was written by another officer who did not witness the event. Does the ticket need to be witnessed by the officer who writes the ticket ? Can I contest the ticket on these grounds ?
I don’t know, but you shouldn’t block the box. It screws everything up in this city. Stay out of it unless you can get through.
