Bus Stop Violations

If ticketed for parking in a Bus-Stop area, check to make sure that your car is, in fact, overlapping with the prohibited zone. Often times, overly aggressive parking enforcement officers will ticket cars which are only close to the prohibited area. If you feel you’ve been ticketed incorrectly, take pictures of the scene and try to get witness accounts as well.

So this morning I woke up to find a parking ticket on my car:
I knew that this was not kosher because there was a missing sign about this being a “No standing” spot in the first place.
BTW, although I didn’t break a meter tape out, I judged distance in car units. I was approximately 5 car lengths from the street cleaning rules sign and 6 car lengths from the No standing sign.
Since it’s been missing a while, I guess the city doesn’t care. Either way, my car is closer to the Street Cleaning rules sign then the No Standing sign.
Then it gets worse. I decided to re-visit another place I got 2 other parking tickets, just to take some pics of that. (I won’t go into the details of those tickets, as something more annoying happens ).
As I snap up some pictures of Bay Ridge Ave and 3rd Ave, ( where I received a parking ticket that says a different location on it ):
I get a parking ticket from some clerk while I’m standing right there taking pictures.
He puts this ticket on my windshield I’m arguing with him about how he can give someone a ticket who JUST got a ticket while they’re right there in the car, taking pictures of the guy. I just pulled over ( not even there for 1 minute ).
(The guy poses, smiles. He said to me, “let me strike a pose for you”, flamboyantly, harassing me with his electronic ticket machine. )
He gave me this ticket, which does not say a word about the operator (myself) being right there.
If there’s any advice to be given for any of the 4 parking tickets here, I plan on visiting 210 Joralemon Street Tuesday to either pay what appears to be $400 to $500 in parking tickets (late fees apply to the first 2 tickets) or somehow defend myself against the latter 2 tickets. I doubt I can do anything about the first 2 tickets because I don’t know how to prove the ticket’s were given with the wrong (mis-described) location.

Happy Valentines Day.What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

The city has finally gone too far. I got a ticket for parking at a Bus Stop – except the Bus Stop isn’t even active anymore! How can that be? If the bus stop isn’t active anymore, why shouldn’t people be allowed to park there? Will someone please explain this to me?
