If ticketed for parking too close to a fire hydrant, taking pictures of the scene is a good idea. If you happen to have a tape measure, ask a witness to assist you in measuring the distance and, if possible, ask for their contact information.

I figured I was far enough away not to get a ticket for this. Anyone know how much they cost?
Pretty sure it’s $57. I stay as far away from those things as possible. The cops love writing those tickets.
