Parking meter violations are often unfair, as many meters don’t function properly. If you receive a citation for a parking meter violation, make sure you check the meter. If it’s flashing “FAIL,” call the number posted on the meter to report the problem.

It seems like all the meters downtown are broken and yet people continue to receive tickets. What’s the deal with this? Is there no official policy prohibiting meter maids from writing these tickets?
